"Bath Salts" - Legal Drugs

Iv'e been knowing about these legal drugs for a while now. They are every parent's worst nightmare. These harmful, and reportedly deadly drugs are legal. You can buy them at gas stations, smoke/herb shops, on tons of sights on the Internet, and other select places. They go by the name of 'Bath salts' and 'Plant food' in order for them to be sold legally. The powders go by the brand names of Ivory wave, Raving Dragon, Blue Silk, Euphoria, LOVE salts, Sextacy, White Lightening, and many more. Some packages do state that the product is "Not for human consumption", but it is very clear why people are purchasing these products. The substance looks nothing like bath salt, it would ruin your bath, because it is truly not made for baths. These powders are not plant food either, but are highly addictive 'research chemicals'. Little is known about them, and they have caused many deaths and suicides. The most common chemicals found in 'bath salts' are said to be MDPV and Mephedrone, although many batches can contain unidentified substances. These so called "bath salts" are extremely dangerous, especially for young teens who are careless, impulsive, and impressionable. In my opinion, these legal drugs are worse than the illegal ones, especially considering the amount of suicides committed while on the drug, or days after consuming. There are many horrifying stories containing disturbing evidence of a drug that causes extreme anxiety, paranoia, and hallucinations so strong that the user may commit suicide, cut and mutilate their bodies, or overdose.

There are far too many disturbing stories all over the net concerning these drugs. It is shocking how the war on drugs (illegal ones) is forever failing to make a difference. Now we have another seemingly more dangerous issue rising- legal drugs. There are multiple reasons why they are legal. I personally believe it is all about making money, controlling the population, condoning drug abuse, dumbing down the masses, and hooking teens to gain repeat customers (using highly addictive substances). The world is clearly out of control and losing sight of the true meaning of life. Ask yourself, how are these drugs benefiting anyone at all?

The Party Pills industry has taken off quick on the Internet. Just try a search, and you will see hundreds of brands of pills and tabs that claim to imitate ecstasy, and amphetamines, but also claim to be natural and safe. They are known as herbal highs, and mood enhancers, pep pills and natural power, persuading you to by them, because they will make your night exciting, and you'll be full of energy. BZP(Benzylpiperazine) and TFMPP (Trifluoromethylphenylpiperazine) are the active ingredients, however these are not natural substances like the labels claim. They are research chemicals, and are absolutely artificial. So, it seems these chemicals will wiggle their way into many lives, because of deceitful and misleading information. Although, common sense would tell anyone who took drugs like these, that something is very much wrong with these products, and the side effects are certainly alarming enough.

Complications, Side Effects, and Dangers of Research Chemicals-

Side effects include: increased heart rate; agitation; insomnia; lack of appetite; increased alertness; anxiety; fits and delusions; nosebleeds and nose burns; muscle spasms; blood circulation problems; increased blood pressure; kidney failure; seizures; risk of renal failure; hallucinations; aggression; severe paranoia; panic attacks; fluctuation in body temperature; muscle tension and twitches; jaw grinding; dilated pupils; violent rage; hot flashes; dysphoria; loss of bowel control; breathing difficulties; cravings; vasoconstriction; hypertension; chest pain; headache and suicidal thoughts.

The scary part about anyone having access to drugs like these, is the lack of knowledge people have concerning these chemicals. The scientists are not even sure of the effects and or long term complications that can come about from the drugs, hence the name "Research Chemicals". When an individual consumes a drug that they know nothing about, the worst is to be expected. The fact that the companies producing the drugs, use trickery, stating the product is not for human consumption, there is no way for someone consuming the drug to know what dose to take. This is a huge problem, especially because the come-down of MDPV is pure torture. Since the drug is a stimulant/amphetamine, and has addictive properties, when the short lived "good feeling" fades away, the user has extreme anxiety and paranoia and will continue to re dose, hoping to achieve the initial euphoric, ecstasy-like high and eliminate the anxious feelings. This cycle of re-dosing will either cause a major depressing come- down, or overdose. The overwhelming side effects can lead to suicide, due to the extreme lack of endorphins, and the madness going on onside the brain. Some experience hallucinations so strong, and seeming so real, the user is in a state of insanity, and may do irrational, and very harmful things.

Another point to raise is this. The drugs may never be completely stopped. When it comes to chemicals, it is very easy for scientists to find loop holes. Take a specific chemical and change one small molecule, and it makes a completely new chemical that can be given a new name and then be marketed for sale. The cycle is never ending. The industries will continue to create slightly different chemicals, make the profits, and when it gets banned, simply change one small part and the cycle runs its course again, thus ensuring profits.

Everything is based on money. These companies, and whoever approved these drugs, do not care about what happens to the people unfortunate (and unintelligent) enough to consume these products. They simply care about their wallets. So now a days it is important not to forget to tell our children, it's not only the illegal drugs that are harmful, it's all of them. Whoever is approving these substances is not to be trusted. Are these the same people approving our food and pharmaceutical drugs? Yes, even pharmaceutical drugs, if you didn't already know, can be harmful, and actually complicate illnesses. This I will write about another day, but for now, realize there is something very wrong with America today.
